Idaho Public Television to Air BYU-Idaho’s 2024 Christmas Concert
As the holiday season arrives, Brigham Young University–Idaho’s 2024 performance of “A BYU-Idaho Christmas” featuring special guest Laura Osnes will be broadcast across Idaho on Idaho Public Television (IdahoPTV, https://www.idahoptv.org/).
A 60-minute edited rendition of the concert is scheduled to premiere Monday, December 22, at 8:00 p.m. MST and will re-air Wednesday, December 24, at 7:00 p.m. MST.
“BYU-Idaho consistently delivers a wonderful Christmas celebration, and the 2024 show with Laura Osnes is no exception,” stated Brett Crandall, university public affairs director. “We’re excited to bring last year’s performance to viewers statewide and hope it fills homes with the Christmas spirit.”
The 2024 concert features guest vocalist Laura Osnes alongside hundreds of students from the College of Performing and Visual Arts.
Osnes is a renowned actress and singer celebrated for her Broadway performances and appearances in Hallmark holiday specials. She first gained wide recognition after winning NBC’s Grease: You’re the One That I Want, which led to her portrayal of Sandy in the Broadway revival of Grease. Her portrayal received widespread acclaim and marked the start of a distinguished Broadway career. Osnes later starred in leading roles in classic productions such as South Pacific, Anything Goes, Bonnie & Clyde (for which she received a Tony Award nomination), Cinderella (another Tony nomination), and Bandstand.
Beyond Broadway, Osnes has expanded to television, starring in multiple Hallmark Christmas specials, with several new projects slated for the 2024 holiday season. Her expressive voice has also been showcased in live performances with organizations like the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, Live from Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center Honors.
