Adidas' Impressive Growth Streak Faces a Slower 2026: Is the Momentum Slowing?
Adidas defied the odds in 2025, achieving double-digit growth in a turbulent economic climate. But the real question is, can they sustain this success? The sportswear giant's latest earnings report reveals a remarkable 11% net sales growth in Q4, culminating in a 13% increase for the entire year, reaching a staggering €6.08 billion.
CEO Bjorn Gulden expressed his satisfaction, stating, "We navigated external challenges and significantly boosted our operating profit." This led to a 188.4% surge in Q4 operating profit, totaling €164 million. For the full year, operating profit soared to €2.06 billion, a 53.8% jump from 2024.
Gulden, who took the helm in 2023, has overseen Adidas' remarkable turnaround, even after the loss of the Yeezy line. His contract extension until 2030 reflects the board's confidence in his leadership.
But here's where it gets interesting: Adidas' growth was not limited to a single region. Every sales territory experienced double-digit growth, with Europe and North America leading the charge with a 10% sales surge. Greater China and Japan-South Korea followed closely with 13% and 14% growth, respectively.
The Latin America and Emerging Markets segments stole the show, boasting the highest growth rates. Latin America's sales skyrocketed by 22%, while Emerging Markets saw a 17% increase.
