We made the leap to full independence as a band, launching a crowdfunding campaign for our upcoming album that blew past expectations, raising nearly $400,000 CAD in just 30 days. Amidst all this, we welcomed Spencer Moore, our new drummer, who joined us at the most critical moment of our recording process. His talent and energy were exactly what we needed to complete our fifth studio album, and I can confidently say this is some of the strongest music we’ve ever created. It’s raw, it’s relentless, and it’s a testament to our growth as artists.
But here’s where it gets exciting: 2026 is shaping up to be even bigger. Our new album, Too Fast to Die, is on the horizon, and I can’t wait for you all to hear it. It’s been a labor of love, filled with challenges that pushed us to our limits, but the result is something truly special. With the album release and a slew of tours planned, we’re ready to hit the ground running—and none of this would be possible without our incredible fanbase. Your support means everything.
Now, onto the albums that defined 2025 for me. These are the records that stood out, challenged me, and kept me coming back for more:
1. Igorrr — *Amen*
Let me just say it: this is the album of the year. If you haven’t heard Igorrr yet, you’re missing out on one of the most innovative and boundary-pushing acts in music today. Amen is a masterpiece—a chaotic, unpredictable, and utterly mesmerizing journey from start to finish. Each track is a sonic rollercoaster, blending genres with reckless abandon, yet it all feels cohesive. The production is flawless, adding depth to the madness. This album doesn’t just stand out—it defines the year. If 2025 had a soundtrack, this would be it.
2. Dormant Ordeal — *Tooth and Nail*
And this is the part most people miss: Polish death metal is having a moment, and Dormant Ordeal is leading the charge. Tooth and Nail is a relentless assault of blast beats, dark melodies, and crushing grooves, all anchored by classic death metal vocals. What sets this album apart is its ability to balance brutality with atmosphere. It’s a record that demands your attention, and it’s been on heavy rotation for me all year. Recommended to me by our drummer, Spencer, this album is a cinematic masterpiece. Australia’s Depravity delivers a death metal album that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Bestial Possession channels the best of mid-2000s death metal while injecting modern technicality and ferocity. It’s a punishing yet exhilarating listen, and it’s a reminder of why this genre continues to thrive. If you’re craving that old-school vibe with a contemporary edge, this album is for you.
